Profile Cutting
Profile cutting has become a large part of our business, with Waterjet and Plasma technology onsite we are able to provide machining end to end production efficiency & lead control time.
Differences between Waterjet and Plasma:
Quality
Out of the two machines, a Waterjet is considered the more accurate machine and will produce higher quality cuts across are wider range of materials and thicknesses. Speed can be adjusted to improve the surface finish of a material, often eliminating the need for secondary machining. A Plasma can produce smooth cuts in a lot of steel, however as material thickness increases, the plasma can struggle to melt through all the material without producing unwanted slag.
Materials
From hardened steels to softer materials like wood and plastic, the Waterjet can cut through nearly any material. The Plasma is limited in what materials it can cut. Plasma primarily is used for steel and it's important to note that conductive materials do not cut well on the Plasma.
Cost
Both the Waterjet and Plasma are affordable ways of cutting material. The Waterjet can be more costly than the Plasma, as it takes longer to cut but produces a finer finish to your material.
